To Love a Child, a non-profit organization based in Saratoga County, has a mission to provide humanitarian assistance to impoverished children and their families throughout the world to help create a better future and quality of life for all.  They serve individuals here in our own community, and in other countries such as Haiti and Zimbabwe.  The work of the organization was recently featured in an article in the Times Union which can be found here.

In 2011, the organization served over 17,000 nutritious meals to the people of Haiti, and 7,000 meals in Zimbabwe, they worked on a solar panel project in several villages, and created a maternal health program for pregnant women in these countries, too.

In 2012, the organization plans to provide even more meals to people in need, to expand their maternal health care program, to work to make clean water a reality for thousands of people, to provide funding for permanent housing for orphans, and much, much more.  If you’re interested in getting behind these initiatives and supporting the work of To Love a Child, consider attending their January 28th event at the Publik House in Malta.  Details are below.

Hope to see you there!
